Vaccination Site Opens Jan. 18 at Keystone Centre
Over 4,000 health care workers will be vaccinated over the first week at Brandon’s immunization supersite.
The site will be located in the Keystone Centre and will officially open on Monday, January 18th. It will be ready to vaccinate 4,100 workers in the first week.
The supersite will be the second site in the province to administer the COVID-19 vaccine, after the Convention Centre in Winnipeg was the first location. A third supersite location is set to open in Thompson on February 1st.
Additional fixed vaccination sites are also planned throughout the province, as more vaccines arrive in Manitoba.
The supersite is expected to hold more people when more vaccines start becoming available for the rest of the general public.
As of Tuesday, 12,409 doses of vaccine have been administered, including 10,749 first doses and 1,660 second doses.
Over a thousand people have also been hired to assist with the vaccination efforts at the sites in Winnipeg and Brandon.
