Konektis choir (pictured above) was the last group to utilize the Festival Stage in October 2020

It’s been just over two years since the Riverbank Discovery Centre started looking for a sponsor of the main stage. Within that timeframe, there were a few interested parties that were close to signing a deal but according to James Montgomery, GM of Brandon Riverbank Inc. “those businesses eventually decided to sponsor other areas of the facility.”

Today the Riverbank Discovery Centre is happy to officially announce Festival Stage will now be called Fusion Credit Union Stage. The freshly signed sponsorship deal will see Fusion Credit Union be the official sponsor of the Festival Park stage for the next six years. “We’re so appreciative of this sponsorship from Fusion Credit Union,” said James Montgomery, GM of Brandon Riverbank Inc. “With the support of the community and from Fusion Credit Union, we’ve seen incredible growth and momentum at the Riverbank, and this sponsorship of our new stage keeps that momentum going strong into the new year.” “This sponsorship will assist Brandon Riverbank Inc. with its ongoing transformation and rejuvenation,” said Bernie Chrisp, board president of Brandon Riverbank Inc. “This sponsorship from Fusion Credit Union is very much appreciated. We look forward to when our community can gather together again at Fusion Credit Union Stage.” “Fusion is thrilled to partner with Brandon Riverbank Inc. as such a like-minded, community-oriented organization,” said Darwin Johns, CEO of Fusion Credit Union. “We value their efforts in enhancing Brandon tourism, and we look forward to what this partnership will bring to our community.”

Montgomery says they are working on the 2021 schedule of shows however, “It all depends on COVID 19 if these events will go ahead of course.” The WDFK Country Fair, NIPD Day, Canada Day festivities, and Music in the Parks are just some of the major events tentatively scheduled for the facility this year. The last time Festival Stage was utilized was in the fall of 2020 when Elaine Hagenberg’s “O Love” was performed by the Konektis choir. Along with the stage Montgomery says there are so many other amenities Riverbank Discovery Centre has to offer for folks who visit, “There is never a shortage of things to see and do year-round. We have nature trails, the river, wetlands, picnic shelters, souvenirs, Tourism services, Taxidermy displays, Interpretive programming, and much more!” For more information, please contact James Montgomery at Brandon Riverbank Inc. at 204-717-8801 or james@riverbank.mb.ca
