Crews Battle Mid Afternoon Blaze In Brandon Near The Trans Canada Highway

Early this afternoon (Monday, February 15th) Brandon Fire and Emergency received a call regarding a fire at Inland Kenworth located on the south frontage road adjacent to the Trans Canada Highway.

According to eyewitness reports, there were trucks inside the bays of the building and massive plumes of smoke were caused by fuel tanks exploding. As of 4:30 p.m. The fire was still going.

Spark News spoke with a representative from Brandon Fire and Emergency who requested the general public to stay clear of the area. Brandon City Police and RCMP cruisers and personnel have cordoned off the area near the fire. Traffic was backed up on the frontage road north of the Trans Canada Highway. 

16 firefighters remain on the scene along with three fire trucks. The Cornwallis Tanker Truck is making steady trips to refill water and assist in fighting the blaze.

No injuries were reported and an investigation will follow once the blaze is extinguished.
