COVID Restrictions Loosen

Starting this Saturday, Manitobans will be allowed a few more people at their homes.

After two months of lockdown, and no visitors in your home, the province announced that restrictions will be loosened on Saturday.

The restrictions will be slightly modified from what the province has been going through over the past few months.

Manitoba residents (outside of the Northern Health Region) will be allowed to have two additional people visit their household and stores may begin selling non-essential goods again.

The additional people can be family or friends, and the province is calling the rules “the rule of two”. These guests can’t be a rotating group though and have to be the same two people each time.

The new rules will be in place for at least the next three weeks.

People will also be allowed 5 extra people in their yard.

As for businesses, stores will be able to sell their full range of products as long as physical distancing and occupancy limits are in place.

Stores must enforce occupancy limits of 25 percent or a maximum of 250 people, whichever is lower.

Funerals will be allowed to have up to 10 people with COVID-19 protocols in place.
